Brief Answer:
Following info on looping and rotation of the heart...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your interest in normal looping and rotation of the heart. It has to do with heart morphogenesis.

There are two main steps for heart morphogenesis:
1. Chamber formation from the tubular heart (primitive heart tube) which through looping and septation form the four chambers & great vessels. Heart looping will positionate the contributing structures into the particular position to engage in septation. On the other hand, septation involves remodeling of the heart (from a single channel pump to a dual channel).

2. Rotation which is essential in the proper orientation of the heart in the thorax cavity. Alsp it is essential to secure the normal position between different heart&great vessels structure.

Wish you luck!
