Brief Answer:
Information on omentum torsion...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Omentum is the layer surrounding abdominal organs. Omentum torsion is a condition where this organ (omentum) is twisted along its long axis. The twist is causing vascularity to be compromised.

It is difficult to diagnose it without surgery as its clinic is similar to acute surgical abdomen, as following;
- sudden onset of abdominal pain
- pain in the right quadrant and related tenderness
- no fever
- no gastrointestinal symptoms
- might be similar to acute appendicitis

Ct-scan with contrast and ultrasound would give some clues regarding the pathology, however, the final diagnosis is made by lapararoscopic examination.

Would the pain come and go or be constant ? Also would it be the upper right or lower right ? Would the pain increase in severity or stay the same ?
Would the file I attached cause one to suspect omentum torsion or rule it out ?

Brief Answer:
please folloow the suggestions below...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

In omentum torsium attack, the pain does not come and go; it does not remain constant neither. When the pain is present, it is increased in intensity (severity).

I have gone through your CT scan reports, and there is nothing that makes me think of omentum torsium.

Hope it answered to your queries!
