Brief Answer:
It may not cause immediate risk to life.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for choosing HCM.
Noted your concern.

Fasting sugar of 200 may not cause immediate risk to life.
Though it may increase chance of -
1) Infection - Skin, urinary.
2) Dehydration due to osmotic diuresis (loss of water & electrolytes through urine due to increased frequency).
3) Rarely impaired sensorium.

But in such cases I may suggest -
- Post - prandial blood sugar level, as it may too high and may require urgent insulin treatment.
- Urine ketone if positive (though very rare) may require insulin treatment.
- Detailed physical examination & history taking that may help in identifying any warning signs that may require immediate medical attention.
- Investigations like
Complete Blood Count.
HbA1c
Lipid Profile
Liver Function Test
Renal Function Test.
Urine examination.
T3, T4, TSH.

Continue current medications regularly as advised by your doctor.

Hope this helps you.
