Question: My name is XXXXXXX XXXX. I have recently had bronchitis. This past Saturday I was seen in the ER . Chest X-ray was clear but cat scan without contrast revealed 1.2 by 1.3 cm lung nodule a5 apex rt lung. I have report I can send. We had 4 week trip to Maine scheduled and Doctor told me to go and wee puulmonologist on return Aug15. I have appointment. I have never smoked. No lung disease. I am scared and wondered if there was anything you saw in this report that could give me some peace. I have no previous CAT scan for comparison. Bronchitis has resolved.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry much about this report.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the report you have attached.
It is showing fibrotic scarring.
This is commonly seen due to previous lung infection.
But at your age of 66 years, it is recommended two have a look on these lesions after 3-6 months because after the age of 50 years chances of lung cancer development are more.
Honestly speaking, I don't think you are having all these. So be relax and calm. But better to get done repeat CT scan to compare the size.
Please let me know
1. Do you have any past history of lung infection?
2. Do you smoke?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
