Question: Dear Doctor,

I have experienced slight sensitivity near my wisdom tooth region. I visited a clinic yesterday and got an X-ray done which I have attached. I have the following questions:

1. Should I get my wisdom teeth removed or is it okay to keep it?

2. If I keep it, will it cause any harm to the adjoining teeth since it is slanting?

3. If I keep it, do I need to follow any specific cleaning regime for the wisdom teeth?

Brief Answer:
decayed wisdom tooth, extraction.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query and the image you have attached.
As far the sensitivity is concerned, It is because of the decay on the mesial aspect of the wisdom tooth.
For your first question, There is no meaning in keeping decayed wisdom tooth which is functionless.
For your second question, Since it is slanting or not in a proper position there are chances of getting the adjacent(second molar) tooth damaged, since you will not be able to clean that area properly.
For your third question, If you keep the wisdom tooth, whatever method you follow you will not be able to clean that region since the tooth is slanting.

If the wisdom tooth would have been in normally erupted and decayed, then we could have saved by doing restoration. Since it is not erupting straight its difficult to restore and keep that area clean and if you fail to clean, the adjacent tooth might get decayed.
If I am your treating doctor, I would have suggested you to get both the upper and lower wisdom tooth removed under local anesthesia.

I hope my answer will help you, take care.
If any queries are there reply me back.
