What Does This PFT Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Aug 2016
Question: Lat thread ended, I wish it would have let the last question through.

The xray went to pulmonologist,
On my PFT in March, I had an xray and the radiologist reported
2 views of the chest show the heart is normal in size, pulmonary vasculature is normal in appearance. Lungs are mildly hyperinflated , pulmonologist added, suspicious for mild changes of asthma, inflammation.

is this something to be concerned with or just leave alone for now.

You can leave all these things.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I answered the last question asked by you.
Didn't you get it?
Well you should leave all these things. Don't think about them.
I am surprised about pulmonologist's comment.
How can pulmonologist comment mild asthma on the basis of chest x ray?
And also tell me whether you got my last reply or not?

Yes I got it, I think the comment was a correction to some other comment that was scratched out. The PFT and Xray were on same day and when he gave me test results, he had made his comment/correction to the report. In his full opinion, he is certain i have very mild asthma, with very mild hyperinflation from the asthma. Every dr can have a slightly different opinion-correct?

Oh I forgot in you question you asked on Prednisone and I had a half pill on tuesday morning so that should be gone from the body by now.

You commented on the previous thread not to concern about hyperinflation but I gave you the comments on the test, Do you still think not to be concerned. I have basically disregarded the comment until just now.

Disregarded the comment until now was, I did not even worry on that statement. Not until you mentioned hyperinflation and then I remembered the comment and started to wonder if that had any reason to worry. The pft had a number on TLC of 117%. The test from 18 Months before was 110% When I looked at the base numbers that calculated the percentages were actually the same on actual, but the predicted dropped on the current because I got one year older. So actually as I see it, it is only 110% which is normal range. So I disregarded the comment.

I will have to let you know later on the prednisone. I do not have the info with me

It was a visit to an after hours clinic. I had never seen this person before and may not ever again. especially once I move. Oh now that i think of it, SHE was a physicians assistant. She did consult with a Dr in the building but I never spoke with him.

Oh. Poor you. I think she is not at all a doctor.
She might be a pharmacist.
Yes, you should not visit him or her again.
You must at the office.
Well I was thinking about your work related stressor.
Before 1-2 weeks, project gave you a lot of stress.
But I don't think you are having any of such project which can give you stress. Then why you are feeling stressed in the morning by the thought of going for job? I don't want to give you extra stress by thinking in this direction. It's absolutely fine if you don't find anything like this.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

I have a update to do on old project that I have 9 days to get done. If left alone, I can get done in one.

I also have another project with a due date of next Monday. It is a fun project, so I do not mind it.

Knowing that i have some additional work along with the upcoming trip has me a little on edge. If I did not mention it, I want to take some belongings with when I go up for visit and Job interview. Save me some moving to do later.

So, the pulmonologist here is not concerned with test and hypeinflation, you also not concerned of my reports. I have not been and you say do not worry on them but Ill see how you feel.

Oh, When I sell my 4 Bass Guitars, I will buy that one. I just have to catch it when it goes on sale again.

I also have a project to keep my mind busy, when i am in sioux falls
I have found a company that gives me raw materials to craft a Bass guitar. I can do this in my free time and see how bad I can make one.

You should be in bed

Prednisone 20mg cut in half

Ok, I want a fast answer, I think I know but I need your opinion.
Remember I have been getting better but had stress increase in past day plus levels have been high for a while

I was outside for lunch, its 38 degrees celcius. 100 farenheit
Humid
I came around the corner in my care and came upon a car that had burst on fire. The first responders were there. The area was black with thick smoke. It came in the vents of the car. I immediately had breathing difficulty.

I know this is my body reacting to the smoke, but since it was like nothing i have ever had before, I need to know if this is the combination of my stress and inflammation, the humidity, temp and the smoke irritant to the airways.?

Oh, just like you said, the local pulmonologist commented that the humidity it hard on everyone in some manner, just with the airways inflammed it is harder than when not inflammed.

I wanted it before you went to bed. I did not want to wait till 15 hours from now when i get up for tomorrow work. I hope the people who own the car did not get hurt. It was thick black smoke coming out of every place on the vehicle

You are a night owl. Stay up late I suppose you get up early too?

Oh, I forgot, A new bass is like a new car, its always fun to try a new one, it plays different, sounds different, sometimes can do new sounds. After a while, you get tired of it and get a new one. Just you dont own 10 cars, just usually 1 or 2, in my case 3 cars and a big XXXXXXX davidson motorcycle. I will dispose of one car when I move.

BUT, 10 bass guitars is only a fraction of the cost of a new car. I buy when I get a bargain-sale
