What Does Severe Headaches After Heavy Workout In The Gym Indicate?

Question: Hello,
I do regular workout in gym and back In April 2015 I did some heavy workout and after 2 days I had severe heache problem (felts like needle getting inserted in my head). So I visited a nuerologist and he suggested for MRI. MRI was normal, so he said that it may be due to chemical imbalance. So he gave me Flauxinol 0.5 and Eliwel 10 mg and immediately my pain went away and I continued for 3 months and then I stopped. After 2 weeks it was Dec 2015 and at one night I felt fullness in one of my ear......and whole day I felt something inserted in my ear or some kind of fullnees in my ear. For 4 months I continued visiting all ENT's and all of the said that your ear is perect and may be due to cold weather you might have this problem. So I waited till March 2016, but problem continued, so I finally decided to do CT scan of brain and synus which also was normal. then I decided to meet the Nuerologist and he suggested that due to chemical imbalanace in brain such kind of pain can occur in any part of body. So he gave me trazine H and Fely's Plus. Which I continued for 3 months and felt better. The moment I reduced to Fely's Plus, the pain / fullness / something inserted in ear again started. So my Nuerologist recommended me to a Psychatrist. The Psychatrist suggested the same that due to chemical imbalance such pain happens. The Psychatrist also suggested that sometimes due to reduction in neuro transmitters in brain such pain happens, so he gave me Recita lite and trazine H and since 2 months I am taking and feeling better but some times in the evening pain do occurs in my ear like something inserted or fullness kind of feeling.
Overall my Psychatrist said that it is a common thing but it maty take 3 months to 1 year to get resolved.

So my question is that why such thing happens....is it due to heavy work out I do??? and what else should I do to get quick relief from it. Overall I am very happy with life and I am working in MNC, I have small daughter and I am satisfied with my life.

I mean to say chemical that comes between nerves are having imbalance. Due to this such problem occure and pain can occure in part of body.

Brief Answer:
Low serotonergic neurotransmission can cause such symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM for your health relate doubts

I can understand your concern. I'd like to tell you that heavy workout has nothing to do with these symptoms but some times due to workout increase in blood pressure occurs and this cause heaviness in head. Individuals some times mistakes it as some serious problem and then these start becoming conscious about the symptoms. Even mild heaviness is not ignored. Low serotonergic neurotransmission is also one reason behind these symptoms.

But fortunately these things are not permanent. With proper treatment most of individuals recover. You are on Recita which is an serotonergic drug and will definitely help you. In about 3-6 months you will be symptoms free. Don't stop the treatment abruptly. Gradual reduction of doses prevents any withdrawal.

Thanks. Take care
