Brief Answer:
Hydoxyurea plus aspirin is treatment of choice.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Treatment of essential thrombocytosis varies from patients to patients. It depends n risk factors. In low risk patients only watchful waiting too low dose aspirin therapy is sufficient. In high risk patients cytoreductive therapy like hydroxyurea or anagrelide is useful. Drug f choice is hydroxyurea plus aspirin. So you can take hydroxyurea instead of anagrelide. Only advantages of anagrelide is in venous thromboemboolism. But overall hydroxyurea is better. It is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer.
