What Does My TORCH Test Indicate?

Question: Hi Experts,

I took a torch test on 13 Sep and the Igg levels of Rubella and CMV were positive . I did take the rubella vaccine and yesterday I again underwent the the torch test and to my XXXXXXX the levels of Rubella and CMV have increased . Can I not conceive till the levels are zero or even I conceive will my baby again have anamolies

I understand your concern..

IgM level is considered significant as it denotes the present infection.. IgG level indicates past infection and antibodies of the past infection..

So there is no problem with conceiving if IgM is normal and IgG is high..

There was no need to take vaccine as the high IgG indicates you are already immunised.. But now since you have taken the vaccine, it would be better to conceive after 3 months as it is a live vaccine and can affect the baby..

There is no need to repeat the Torch test again.. You can try for pregnancy after December 13..
