Brief Answer:
Viral upper respiratory illness may be the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.

I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions. I need to know the duration of your symptoms.

In my opinion it might be viral upper respiratory illness (URI) is characterized by clear thin mucous from the nose or back of the throat for the first phase of the illness. After that the mucous that is produced starts to thicken and often turns yellow or green as the body responds to the virus. Since it is falling at the back of throat, it is called as post-nasal drip.

It should be treated with decongestants and inhaling the steam from hot tap water or boiled water can also be very effective. I suggest you to follow this for few days.
Even after few days if your symptoms does not subside, post nasal drip can also occur with allergy, that should also be considered.

Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.

Sincerely,
