What Does A Small Brown Lump Outside The Anus?

Question: My partner has a small brown lump on the outside of her anus. It is about the size of a large pea. It's only sore when you touch it. It's not itchy at all. It only arose when she moved to singapore recently

Going by short description provided it is likely to be small skin tag or perianal Hematoma. Exact diagnosis will depend on clinical examination. It would be very helpful if you could provide me with the clinical photograph. Also do provide me with following additional information

1. Does she have constipation?
2. Does she have pain while passing stools?
3. Is there discolouration of skin overlying the swelling?

In the meantime I would suggest you the following

1. Hot Seitz bath : To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of antiseptic solution. Sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day.

2. Local application of Xylocaine ointment

Hi. She doesn't have constipation. There is no pain when passing stools and the skin does not appear discoloured.
Not sure how I can attach a photo for you though.

Dear Ms

Thanks for providing the clinical photograph. It is small perianal Hematoma and it should subside in a week time . I would suggest you the following

1. Hot Seitz bath : To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of antiseptic solution. Sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day. It will help relive congestion

2. Local application of combination of Steroid like Hydrocortisone and local anaesthetic like Xylocaine applied thrice a day will be helpful

3. Analgesic and anti inflammatory like Ibuprofen thrice a day for 5 days

4. Laxatives like Lactulose 10 ml at be time for a week will help
