Brief Answer:
It can be easily treated.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your friend's husband's clinical details. The most common mass in the pituitary gland is an adenoma (a benign tumor, non-cancer). Pituitary adenoma can be easily treated. If it is small (10 mm in size), it needs to be removed by operation. Operation is simple, as it can be done through nose (without opening the skull bone).

So, there is no need to panic or worry.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Pituitary adenoma smaller than 10 mm- only medicines, no operation.

Pituitary adenoma bigger than 10 mm- operation, usually through nose.
