What Do These Following CT Scan And Ultrasound Reports Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 17 Mar 2017
Question: My ct scan indicated my spleen was prominent 11.7cm (I'm a female 5'2 130lbs) but my ultrasound stated my spleen measurement being 10.8cm, why the difference? Should I be worried? My liver is normal.

Brief Answer:
The CT scan is more accurate

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

if the CT and ultrasound were not done a long time apart then you should trust the CT scan which is more accurate. The ultrasound scan has more limitations and is operator dependent. In any case the size of your spleen is normal. There is nothing to worry about.

Kind Regards!
