What Could Cause Blurred Vision, And Body Tremors While Taking Buspirone?

Question: I am here because it is Saturday afternoon and the physicians' offices and pharmacy we use are closed. My 17 year old daughter's psychiatrist just started her on buspirone 10mg, 1/2 tablet twice per day for 7 days, then 1 tablet twice daily thereafter. she started taking the full tablet yesterday morning. Other medicines she takes are: fluvoxamine 100mg 1 1/2 tablets per day at bedtime, occasional Ibuprofen 800mg, rizatriptan 10mg to be taken with ibuprofen at onset of migraine and 2 hours later-max 2/day, twice/week, sodium chloride 1 g 1/2 per day in the morning.
My daughter described symptoms of a seizure that occurred about 11:40AM EST. The symptoms were blurred vision, she couldn't feel her body, and then her body jerked. She says it lasted about a minute. About a year ago when her migraines began, the child neurologist did an EEG and it came back normal.
She seemed to be doing fine on the 1/2 buspirone but I intend to give her none at all until monday morning. Is there anything else I should do before then?

Brief Answer:
Don't stop buspirone immediately. continue with 1/2 tablet t

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I don't believe she experienced e seizure since buspirone doesn't give seizures as side effect or interaction.
I think it is a combination of buspirone side effects such blurred vision, lightheadness, lack of concentration. This happened due to increasing dosage.

I recommend you absolutely not to stop the buspirone abruptly because it has many withdrawal side effects
Continue with giving her half a tablet twice daily as you did before and consult her doctor on Monday for the continuation.
Maybe she needs to increase dose more gradually not by a tablet twice daily but 3/4 table twice daily.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
