Posted on Sat, 9 Jan 2016
Question: When I first get up in the morning, my legs are so weak I can't walk without holding on to something. This usually goes away within an hour or two. EKG normal, blood pressure tends low normal. Have had lymphocytic colitis for two years, treating with bunesonide and domperidome mallet, keeping diarrhea under control.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to osteoarthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query to HCM.

The weakness in the legs in the morning can be related to osteoarthritic changes in the weight bearing joints or due to nerve root compression caused by spondylottic changes in the lumbar spine.

It is best to consult an orthopedician for a physical examination and to find out the cause.,

I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

I was concerned that these symptoms might portend MS or something like Guillan-Barre Syndrome. Should these not be ruled out also?

Brief Answer:
Rule out more common causes first.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
These symptoms can be due to many causes but the commonest causes should be ruled out first. All this can be done under the guidance of an orthopedician and a neurologist.
Hope my answer is helpful.
