Question: Hello,

My grand mother has been having vaginal bleeding the whole of today. She is 87 yrs old, around 3 yrs back she fell and has a hip fracture, since after the surgery she's mostly on the bed.
Before today, a few month back, she had some spotting for a day or two, and a few weeks back a brownish discharge. But today the bleeding has been continuous. Please advise. We are in XXXXXXX please let us know whom to consult

Brief Answer:
Consult an OBGYN specialist

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Vaginal bleeding at her age can be due senile atrophic vaginitis, or can be due to cancer of vulva, vagina, cervix or endometrium.
I will suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist as soon as possible to get her properly examined internally, investigated and treated accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
