Question: My husband donated plasma 2 days ago and now his arm and hand are swollen. He has donated for years and never had this happen, should he see a doc or is this normal?

This is not normal,but not dangerous as well

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

This is not normal and this is indicating phlebitis that occured at place of vein puncture. Although, this is commonly seen and in most cases it passes on its own,just need to elevate hand,apply cold compresses and rest. BUT if there is redness,pain fever or swelling progression then he must visit doctor and have antibiotics prescribed and arm should be immobilized.
