What Causes Stinging Sensation At The End Of Penis During And After Ejaculation?

Question: Hi, I've been getting treated for chronic prostatitis and have recently finished my antibiotics. At this time I'm experiencing some symptoms that i didn't have before. I'm having a stinging sensation at the tip of my penis during and after ejaculation. This is the only time and not during urination. I was tested several times with urine and semen cultures and the only thing that showed was mycoplasma infection which i was treated for. Could this still be signs of the mycoplasma or could this just be from prostate inflamation? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Most likely it is because the infection is healing, details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. If you have taken treatment for mycoplasma then it is unlikely to be due to an infection due to mycoplasma.

2. It is possible that your urethra lining is still in healing phase and during ejaculation and soon after there is irritation in the lining of urethra that is felt as stinging sensation at the tip during and after ejaculation.

3. This stinging is also felt by many normal men when they pass urine just after ejaculation.

4. You can try passing urine before having sexual intercourse and masturbation and it is most likely that your burning sensation will not occur.

5. Please avoid forceful or violent sexual intercourse or masturbation for some days.

6. If the symptoms continue with following the above suggestion even after 15 days from now then please consult your doctor again.

7. Please drink adequate water and pass urine frequently to flush your system. Do not hold urine.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
