What Causes Sore Throat And Difficulty Swallowing After Having Oral Sex?

Question: I have this lingering sore throat, neck pains and some difficulty swallowing and I have seen a doctor who put me on ampiclox but after 5days the sore throat is still there and my neck is tight. I am suspecting oral gonorhea or chlamydia cos I had oral sex please which drug can i take to treat it. Expecting your reply. I will like to state that this sore throat has been there for over three weeks and that's why I suspect an infection.Thanks

Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query; and suggests you that if you are suffering from uncomplicated gonorrhea and Chlamydia then you can be treated with the antibiotic ceftriaxone given as an injection and in combination with azithromycin tablet - 500mg on day 1st, followed by one tab 250mg once a day for 4 more days with this hexidine mouth gargles.

But to reach the near diagnosis and to rule out other disease I personally suggest you to go for throat swab culture and antibiotic sensitivity.

Do I need to discontinue the ampiclox that I am taking before the swab test or I can just go ahead with the test while still taking the ampiclox.
