What Causes Severe Pain In The Abdomen?

default
Posted on Wed, 2 Nov 2016
Question: This is for Dr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX (if possible),

I'm sorry I didn't respond to your response. I do appreciate your answering my question. The only other item I wanted to ask regards something I've noticed about this pain recently: it really only becomes noticeable not only with a diet, but more so when I sit down (almost as if there's pressure being applied to one of these organs, which is why I was fearing inflammation or cancer). Would the responses you listed to the first question still be in line with this symptom?

Ive attached an image pointing to where the pain occurs too.

Thank you,
XXXX

Hi XXXX, lets not think of worst scenario now.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, lets not think of worst scenario now. Give it a week at least. If there is no improvement you can go back to your doctor for further tests to rule out a tumor or any other cause. All the best, and regards.

Sounds good. If I may ask though doctor, just to put my mind at ease, I was just curious if this could resemble some sort of cancer (without weight loss or jaundice)? It's literally just this pain on the right side. I was told I have fatty liver disease about six months ago, which I've read can lead to LC. I try to not worry but it's difficult when this pain is nearly always present.

Hi XXXX, we can never rule anything out hundred percent.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, we can never rule anything out hundred percent. After 35 years of active medical practice I've learnt that. Yes there can be cancer without weight loss and jaundice, at least initially. But let me tell you one thing that should give you confidence and set your mind at rest a bit. Pain is not an early symptom of cancer. It normally manifests pretty late. By then there will definitely be other clear cut symptoms. If you are very anxious you can get a CT Scan abdomen and pelvis with contrast. But remember there is radiation exposure. That is why I'd like you to wait a bit. Sometimes certain things happen to our body, and it takes a little time to clear. Best Regards.

Ive changed my diet entirely as of today.
Nothing fruits, veggies, proteins, and white meats.
The pain still lingers but its only day one.
Another doc says that colon issues (colon cancer) cannot be ruled out but seems unlikely due to no weight loss or jaundice. So we'll see .
