Question: What can be done to ease the extreme dryness in nose. I am guess the dryness is aggravating due Duolin Nebulisation that was recommended thrice daily. Please review the attached doctors notes.

Mom want to stop nebulization as that is causing more dryness in nose and throat. please advise.

Brief Answer:
Intranasal saline spray and steam inhalation should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the prescription.
Nasal dryness is common after duolin Nebulization.
You can do following things to reduce and avoid dryness.
1. Intranasal saline spray and steam inhalation 4-5 times a day.
2. Ask patient to breath in through wide open mouth and rinse mouth after Nebulization.
3. If she is comfortable with inhaler then start duolin inhaler with spacer insted of duolin Nebulization.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your mother. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Oral bronchodilators should also be started.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.

By your history and description, possibility of acute exacerbation is more.
So breathlessness on minimal exertion, fatiguability etc are symptoms of acute worsening.
Along with inhaled treatment, oral long acting bronchodilators like acebrophyllin sustained release (Abphyllin SR or Abflo SR) should also be started for better symptomatic relief.
