Posted on Wed, 30 Jul 2014
Question: I have been suffering with severe cramps and pain in the back of my thighs and legs...the pain is excruciating.....It hurt so bad that they sat me in a chair to finish my mammogram. I drink sufficient water but I can't really excercise......Lately these cramps render me unable to stand.....I take a one a day multivitamin .....plus 2000 units of vitamin d-3...also vitamin b-12.... Years ago I used to take quinine but they don't prescribe it any more....It worked great. .

Brief Answer:
take potassium rich diet

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have studied your case.
Leg cramps ca be due to potassium deficiency also.
so I will advise to take potassium supplements and potassium rich diet.
Another possibility can be spinal canal stenosis leading to muscle cramp. This can be due to old injury to spine also.
I will advise you MRI spine.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to ask. I will be happy to answer your question. Take care
