Question: hi, i am suffer from fibromatosis / desmoid tumors on left side chest ,above the heart (size 15*9*7 cm) . , for that last yea we are done surgery partially cut 2 ribs and removed that . but afer one year it again observed above the old place (size 11*6 cm) and it goes towards the scapula. please suggest me what to do.

Desmoid tumor has potential to recur. The size was quite high the first time and margin status unknown, so recurrence was possible.

Now also the size appears large and second surgery likely to be difficult. In this scenario, first we should get the biopsy reviewed again to see if the diagnosis was correct. If fibromatosis confirned, then medical treatment can be considered.

Various drugs effective in this are tamoxifen, diclofenac, low dose chemotherapy like weekly methotrexate and vinblastine. They can help in reduing it and keeping it under control.
