Red cheeks: various causes.;Sun Protection. Use a sunscreen regularly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the red, hot cheeks and uncomfortable feeling in your daughter.

As it is a recurring problem in your daughter so it is quite important to deduce the main cause of the same.

In my experience it could be most commonly due to excessive sun exposure or even with normal sun exposure in persons sensitive to sun light which is known as " Poly morphous light eruptions".

The other important cause of the same could be due to "Rosacea". It is quite commonly encountered condition where there is sudden redness of cheeks with warmth could be felt.

Last but not the least it could be a sign of an internal systemic problem exhibiting in form of red hot cheeks with generalized discomfort.

In all of the above conditions sunlight is an important cause in aggravating the condition.

I humbly suggest you to meet a dermatologist to get her examined. A personalized check up would definitely help her out in getting alright.

Till the time you meet a doctor I suggest you to protect her form direct sunlight. Avoid any other cosmetics or related items on face. Ask her to use sunscreen regularly.

My wishes for her early recovery.

Thank you for this information. I will share with her your thoughts and concerns.

She is extremely protective of her skin, she always wears sunscreen.

She and I are doing a 28 day cleanse of fresh fruits and vegetables, so I was wondering if this could have anything to do with it?

We both have chronic "mystery illnesses" so we thought we would rid/cleanse our bodies of toxins. We started on the 2nd January and are already seeing some positive results. Some negative ones as well...headaches, sluggish.

Thank you again!

Brief Answer:
Eat more of red fruits; Apply the sunscreen half an hour before going out

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for posting your further follow up.

It is really good that your daughter is quite very conscious about her skin and applies sunscreen regularly. It will help her out in preventing the main cause of the aggravating factor. I additionally suggest applying sunscreen for two to three times a day. Apply the sunscreen half an hour before going out and if staying outside then reapply it after 3 hours. It is because of the fact that sunscreens are activated half and hour after application. The effect remains for maximum of 3 hours.

You can very well go for your 28 days regimen of fruits and vegetables. It will definitely help you out in getting good positive effect. The part of mild weakness and related problems are due to low calorie index of these foods. So eat these things in divided schedule regularly for usual energy supplementation.

I further suggest you to eat more of red fruits like apple, carrots, beetroots and tomatoes which contains high amount of vitamins and antioxidants.

I hope this helps.

My best wishes for healthy and glowing skin.
