What Causes Persistent Headache Followed By Pain In Left Part Of Brain?

Question: i am suffering from headache which continues for more the more than a week in a fixed pattern like everyday at a sometime. During that period of time left part of my brain pains as well as the back portion of neck. During that period my left eye gets red coloured. red coloured veins looks more visible. I feel left eye bit heavy and water in it. sometimes i feel vomiting and sometimes i feel little pain in jaws as well. veins of left side of forehead gets swollen and starts blinking. During that period i get annoyed of things very easily. After sleeping for 3-4 hours i feel normal. Please suggest.

Thank you for your valuable suggestions. Here is the response to the questions asked above:
What other features of headache are present?
During this period of time my productivity gets decreased. Some features are as that i feel heavy eye during that period. eyes gets red and tear start coming. veins of eyes gets red and visible particularly left eye. Some times pain continues for more than 6-7 hrs. At that time jaws starts ppaining as well and i feel nausea as well. If i sleep during the pain, i feel good, the pain gets decreased. An similarly if i take tea or some snacks i feel relief.

Type of headache: throbbing, Bursting?

Sensitivity to sound or light?
Light

Nasal stuffiness, tearing in eyes?
Tearing in eyes

I have some queries.
Cause of migraine?
is migraine curable?
Is their any exercise/ yoga which is helpful in migraine?
Should i stop taking tea?
Is their any precaution which i should take like food or something else?
number of hours i should sleep?
i do night shift, is it a reason behind this(migraine)?
Is their any side effect of the medicines of migraine?

I have gone through your response.
Unilateral headache can be migraine or cluster headache.
In your case migraine headache is more likely.
Migraine etiology is not clear but vascular and neuronal pathogenesis has been suggested.
Migraine is a life style disease and can be managed to a large extent by precautions.
Sleep should be 7-8 hours in night. Night shifts lead to poor sleep habits and triggers migraine.
Eat timely food, avoid fasting.
Tea can be taken 2-3 times in a day.
Relaxation exercises and yoga helps.
Prophylaxis drugs are required for prevention and can be stopped after 6 months if headache is adequately controlled.
Pain killers can be taken when required.
Side effects are different for different drugs and can be discussed on starting treatment by a neurologist.
Common side effects are amitryptiline cause mouth dryness, increased sleep, Divalproate cause weight gain, Topiramate may cause weight loss and glaucoma.
