What Causes Painful Slightly Itchy Spots All Over Body?
Question: i am in a long term relationship. not many other partners. recently i got it in my head that i could have asymptomatic herpes. then i started feeling pain and slight itching in spots all over my body -- head, feet, genitals. just an itch for a second that then goes away. what do you think?
i never had any oral anything in my life until recently had a tiny maybe cold sore. my girlfriend reports having them on occasion for her whole life, so she's probably the source of that.
i had this fear years ago and saw a doctor, he told me i had no symptoms and ordering thr test could show whether i had ever been exposed but he didn't recommend it because "what are you gonna do with that information"
do i need to be evaluated for a genital herpes infection?

Brief Answer:
you do not have genital herpes
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
As the name implies ,GENITAL herpes, the herpes lesions are ONLY around the genital area and in men usually on the penis. Since you have these spots everywhere it is extremely unlikely you have genital herpes. You more than likely have contact dermatitis and not anything sexually transmitted.
In summary
1. not genital herpes
2. relax and dont stress so much
3. prevent spread of genital herpes by using a condom
