What Causes Pain In The Nipples?
Question: Dear doctor i have pain in my nipples since last 2 days. Please guide me.

The pain in nipples may be due to injury to the breast tissue like by pinching or accident that may cause soreness of breast, infection of the breast - called mastitis. Pain in the underlying muscles or ribs may be mistaken for sore nipples and also abrasion and also rough cloths that you may be wearing.
The following measures will help:
a. Only wear cotton innerwear that will not rub against your nipples.
b. You can apply Nipcare cream immediately over the area after cleansing it properly with warm water and savlon. Apply a lubricant like baby oil or any moisturizer over the nipples.
In case the pain is associated with swelling and is gradually increasing then do consult your gynecologist for a direct examination and to rule out any infection.
