Brief Answer:
As detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Male/65 - pain in lower abdomen - on deep breathing - coughing - getting up from laying down - sitting in an upright chair - even on walking - for about a week ....

The history provided by you indicate an inflammatory process going on in the abdomen, particularly in the lower region. The probable causes are:
Diverticulitis
Enteritis meaning inflammation of the small intestines.
Inflammation of other organs like appendix, colon or anything that is present in the pelvic area.
I would suggest you the following in such a situation:

Clinical evaluation by a Doctor, preferably a General Surgeon.
Tests of blood, urine and stool as asked by your Doctor.
Ultrasonography and CT scan of abdomen.
Any other tests as advised and needed.

These will help us to get an accurate diagnosis and getting treated properly, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication...
