What causes pain in stomach with history of gall bladder removal?

Question: I started about 5 days ago having double-over pain in my stomach area. Years ago, I had gallbladder removal. A few years later I had the cystic duct removed due to constant nausea.

Now I wonder if there is some problem there. If there is -- is there anything that can be done? I have a doctor's apt XXXXXXX 3. I am currently taking Pantoprazole sod dr 40 mg. once a day.

Brief Answer:
Gastroscopy should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Pain in stomach area (upper middle abdomen) is usually caused by stomach issues. It can be peptic ulcer, stomach inflammation, esophagus inflammation. If the pain does not radiate to the back, no dark urine, whitish stool, this is not pain related to bile ducts.
Patoprazole may help but this will be a slow process. You should also avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, coffee, alcohol, orange juices and chocolate.

You should also consult your doctor and have gastroscopy done.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Thank you. It makes me feel better about the gall bladder.

Is this test the one where the tube is placed into your stomach? Gastroscopy?

Thanks
