Posted on Sat, 7 Mar 2015
Question: Hi for the past few months ive been having muscle twitches through out my entire body. They are not painful but very bothersome. Today my upper stomach, right underneath the chest bone, has been twitch a lot deep inside my stomach. But also other muscles are twitching, it seems a day doesnt go by without my muscles twitching. I have no muscle weakness and these twitches dont hurt and usually only last a few seconds. My upper stomach twitches dont hurt but feel with alot of pressure. I am nust wondering if there is any concern with muscle twitching. Thank youi n advanced

Brief Answer:
Need few tests before treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your concern.

As per your symptoms, this could be a possible Myoclonus disorder.

But we need to get this confirmed through Polymyography/EMG and EEG/electroencephalography.

These two investigations guide you to accurate diagnosis and further treatment management.

The treatment consists of using drugs like Sodium Valproate and Clonazepam for an extended period of time.

The drugs produce prompt relief.

You need not worry much as the outcome is quite good.

Post your further queries if any.
