Brief Answer:
explained

Detailed Answer:
hello and welcome.

The skull esp at the area you mentioned i.e occipital and lower junctions with temporal bones have quit a few ridges normally and they are not a matter of concern esp if there are no symptoms associated with it like headache , seizures or a history of trauma.

Though if you suspect swelling and the size or number of the indents increases, then a skull x ray or CT Scan may be indicated in consultation with a neuro surgeon.

for your neck discomfort NSAIDS like ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant like tizanidine would suffice.

let me know if you have any query.
thanks.
