What Causes Headache And Vomiting While On Fentanyl Patches?
Question: Hi I am on fentanyl patches 12mg per hour. I have been on it since December. Every 2 or 3 weeks I get bouts of migrain like symptoms along with vomiting and the runs which last 1-2 days then I an ok again. I also take codeine. I notice the other day that I applied the parch before taking the old one off. Could this cause it.

It was when I was changing them, I put the new one on before I took off the old one. They were together for about a minute. Also is it ok to take ranitidine with these patches? Does it matter where you where them, can you where them on your hip for example? I am also having the occasional heavy night sweats. I has a zoledronic acid intravenous drip last Friday would that have anything to do with it?

The fentanyl patch is better to be applied on dry and clean skin areas such upper arm, chest or back.
Wait three days before using the same area again.
It is okay to use ranitidine and fentanyl, but fentanyl should not be used with codeine ( sorry that I didn't mentioned this in our previous conversation ).
Zolendrinic acid injection may cause adverse effects such fever, sweating etc.
