Brief Answer:
For now, there is no need to visit the ER!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your daughter yesterday. Considering the information you have provided, there is no need for urgent medical attention at this time. However, I will recommend that you get an appointment as soon as possible to report this to her primary care doctor. This will give room for examination and maybe some basic tests to understand what happened and make sure there is nothing that is being missed here. Is this the first time or has she ever experienced this before? Can you also describe what were the surrounding circumstances before she fainted and how long it lasted? Did she have any abnormal movements?

In all, there is no need for an ER visit right away, Let her get an appointment and see her regular doctor to report this for investigation and management.

I hope this helps and addresses your query fully. I wish your daughter well and pray you get to recover as much as possible from this condition. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

My daughter was visiting her mother yesterday (Saturday)who is in hospital (RNOH) awaiting spinal surgery on Tuesday. She was talking normally when suddenly her head fell forward and whilst her eyes were open she was unconscious for about a minute. The nurses took her bp and it was very low. She regained consciousness and was given a piece of toast. Advised to see your GP Monday. She has a history of thyroid problems. Should I seek further advice today ??

During the faint she was clammy and seemed to shiver...not happened before

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up precision.

Please, nothing would happen to your daughter today. She would be able to see her doctor on Monday for more investigations as to what the possible cause of this was. I will not be surprised if there is no identifiable cause to this. She could have been overwhelmed by emotions, low blood sugar, etc.

I hope this helps. I wish her well. Feel free to ask for ore information and clarifications if nee be.
