What Causes Severe Headaches In An Elderly Patient?

Question: i have been experiencing frequent severe headaches for the last month. i am 69 and may have had 2 migraines in my lifetime. i had a spinal surgery last November and a hip replacement in July. it was just noticed on my lower back apparent black brusing just below my back surgery site. I called my Dr. today but no retuen call yet.

Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
Is the headache similar in character to previous migraine attacks?
Any nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound?
Any sleep disturbances?
Any anxiety or stress?
Headache is unilateral or bilateral?
You can take naproxen 500 mg twice daily for few days.
Amitriptyline can be added too.
