What Causes Excessive Sweating, Low Blood Pressure, Stomach Pain, Nausea And Diarrhea?

Posted on Wed, 12 Apr 2017
Question: Last night I had to go to the ER. My symptoms were profuse sweating, an immediate drop in blood pressure, stomach pains, nausea and diarrhea.
. After receiving anti-cramping and anti-nausea medicine along with two bags of fluid, I was back to normal. This is the second time this has occurred. Both times--no heart involvement. Abdominal CT showed no problems. Doctor mentioned something about bagel or venal nerve. I don't t understand.

Brief Answer:
gastroenteritis probably...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

you haven't mentioned their diagnosis but it's probably a gastroenteritis. Normal tests exclude more serious disorders (particularly the negative CT scan).
I'm not sure which is the question though! It's normal for the blood pressure to fluctuate during the course of a gastroenteritis and to feel like fainting when you are about to vomit or have diarrhea. If the symptoms are gone, then there are no worries. I don't see any connection with the vagus nerve, I can't interpret the doctor's statement. Perhaps you should try to remember exactly what the doctor said and let me know...

Kind Regards!
