Brief Answer:
Examine his ear.Give Paracetamol

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I deeply understand your concerns.

You give him Syrup Paracetamol 5ml or Tab.Paracetamol 250mg. That should reduce the pain.

If it's a sudden pain it can be due to foreign body(insect etc) especially in children. I were suggest to examine his ear using a torch light to rule out the presence of foreign body.If yes, try to siphon little water repeatedly, gently using a disposable syringe so that it comes out.Make sure you give him paracetamol as suggested above so that it alleviates pain before syringing. Insert the tip of the syringe in the ear canal superficially & do not go deep.

Although he may have intense agony, this is not emergency. Do not panic. You may consult your ENT as soon as possible tomorrow.

Hope this answers your query.

I gave him Ibugesic and put ear drops. Some wax seems to be coming out, though I hvn't removed it by inserting anything. He hasn't complained of pain thereafter.
Should I assume the problem is sorted out?

Brief Answer:
Suggest ENT opinion

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear.Thanks for writing back.

I am glad to hear that the medication could give adequate relief. But, I were to examine his ears to rule out possibility of foreign body, infection of the ear drum which is equally important especially common in this age group. Suggest to consult an ENT consultation to rule out the above.

Hope this answers your query.
