What Causes Dizziness While Having Hypothyroidism?

Question: my wife is 59 years old and just had a dizzy spell that made her go to the ground she said her eyes were spinning - her dizziness is continuing after setting down on the couch = she is taking medication for under active thyroid that the doctor recently raised her dosage - should we go to the ER?
