Question: My moms(type 2 diabetic 15 yrs of medication) was admitted in hospital for diabetic ketoacidosis with sinus tachy . They suggested for ct for abdominal obstruction, but reports looks normal and saw degerative changes in the spine and atherosclerosis changes are seen in the aorta? , I understand degerative could be due to OA in the right knee..

Brief Answer:
she does not have heart disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX I am Dr.Teli, MD.
I have gone through your query.in this case your mother does not have heart disease.sinus Tachycardia means increased heart rate which in her case was due to ketoacidosis.I also understand your concern about atherosclerosis of aorta.Actually it means age related thickening of wall of aorta with fat deposition.usually it is not serious condition.
If there are additional heart reports like echo ,you may please share here on follow up,I would be glad to reply.
My best wishes for her recovery.
I hope this satisfies your query

Brief Answer:
please avoid any alternative medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hello mr XXXXXXX I would Like to inform you that no medicine is free of side effects, even food! Main advantage of allopathic medicine is our knowledge of side effects. There may be interaction of 2 different drugs and may harm the patient.so I request you not to use this herb. Also mother has no significant heart disease or blocks.
My best wishes
