Brief Answer:
I don't think you need to worry much about this but as you

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Slight variation in scrotum(darker or not) which goes away with exposure to cold or hot environment is mostly a normal finding as the skin of scrotum reacts in such a way to adjust to the hot/cold climatic conditions. This occurs as a protection to the contents of it.

I don't think you need to worry much about this but as you observed a slight discomfort in testicles, I suggest a physical examination should help in completely ruling out things.

Thanks
