Question: my brother is taking eliquis and experiencing severe confusion. He is very quiet and has forgotten many daily tasks. What should he do

Confusion and memory issues isn't listed among the common possible side effects of Eliquis, but can't be excluded as a possibility.

Another condition to consider regarding to your brother's symptoms and age is dementia, but first is necessary to exclude Eliquis as the culprit by stopping it and using Enoxaparin instead for a couple of weeks.

If confusion persists after stopping Eliquis, dementia should be considered and evaluation by a Neurologist is necessary.

Discuss with your brother's Doctor about these issues.
