default
Posted on Tue, 7 Oct 2014
Question: about a month back i had my yearly check up and there were some puss cells found in the urine. I had no discomfort whatsoever while passing urine. but for the past 4 days i have mild burning sensation while passing urine and there is again a mild pain on the left lower side of the stomach. Is it that I have urinary infection. I am 54 yrs old female. I do not have fever or any other symptoms. slight nagging burning sensation is there even when not passing urine. kindly suggest a medication

Brief Answer:
Ni otobkem

Detailed Answer:
Women of your age group are vulnerable to urine infections. However a few pus cells in urine don't always suggest an infection. Also urine infections need not always have pus cells in urine. Also, urine infections need not manifest with fever & chills. Per your notes, it's possible that you have infection in the urine tract and you need to undergo urine testing and culture. Only then should you start antibiotics.
