Posted on Wed, 6 Jan 2016
Question: Hey. So I was hit in the head by a 3" metal pipe that was 4 ft long that fell from 10 ft I went to the doctor and found out I did have a concussion. This happened on the fourth. Well on the 9th I started to have a bad strong burning pain that is sometimes were I was hit (behind the ear did spilt my ear in half) or in the front of my head behind my eye. Is this part of my concussion and will go away or is this something I should be worried about. Thanks for any information given I'm just concerned and hope I'm not worrying myself.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to concussion.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome to HCM.

Thanks for posting your query.

The burning pain in the head and behind the eye can be due to the concussion itself. If there is no vomiting, double vision, bleeding from the ear or nose, etc then there is no need to worry. This pain will gradually decrease as the concussion heals.

Meanwhile you can simply take Tab PARAETAMOL 650mg Three times a day after food for 3-4 days, it'll help to reduce the pain and discomfort.

I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Brief Answer:
Do consult a physician if headache persists.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again to HCM.

If there was a blood in the nose and occasional double vision then do consult a Neurologist / Neurosurgeon if the headache is persistent. An MRI scan may be needed to find out the extent of injury.

Hope my answer is helpful.
