Question:
I am a mail processing clerk and would like to have a medical opinion as to how my employment activity (repetitive lifting, bending, stooping, etc. while performing my duties as a mail processing clerk caused, contributed to, or aggravate my medical condition which is radiculopathy (back pain associated pain and numbness radiating to my right leg and foot. I have been diagnose to have a degenerative spondylolisthesis at L4/L5 and spondylotic disk herniation at L4/L5 and L5/S1 basing from my MRI reading. How did I get a Back pain and numbness on my right leg and foot. how did it happen?
Brief Answer:
Disc herniation
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Thank you for attaching your report, I have gone through it.
It is possible that the current condition is secondary to your profession. The reason why your legs are also affected is because the nerve that supplies sensation to your legs arise from the back ( lumbar region). L4/ L5 discs are herniated and it is compressing the nerve that is supplying to your legs causing this numbness and pain
I strongly recommend that you approach a spinal surgeon for correction as soon as possible. It is possible that if you delay it too much you might develop weakness of the lower limbs as well
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries or if you want me to put the perspective in other words please get back to me
Regards
