Brief Answer:
Better to evaluate.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

If you had missed the period for 4 months,it was better to evaluate and find out the cause initially before going for hormonal pills.
Most commonly this results from PCOD(Polycystic ovarian disease).
Anyhow, though rarely,we have rule out some other causes also, like ovarian neoplasm, adrenal dysfunction, pitutary neoplasm, thyroid dysfunction etc.

So,in my opinion it is better to see a gynaec for detailed evaluation. You will be asked for an abdominal USG,and some blood tests.

Hope this will answer your query.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.
