What Causes Absence Of Periods A Month After Medical Abortion?

Question: i had a medical abortion approx aboit a month ago and still ha e not gotten my period ? I bled very little after it for about a week but not much blood. my pregnancy symptoms ha e dissapeared but still no period.?

The absence or delay of periods one month after the medical abortion can be due to mild retained products in the uterine cavity. This can be diagnosed after an ultrasound scan of lower abdomen.
The other possibilities are a fresh pregnancy due to unprotected sex after abortion or a mild hormonal imbalance, stress and anxiety.
It is best to test your urine for pregnancy and in case the test is negative then wait for a week for the periods to start on their own.
In case the periods are still delayed then consult your gynecologist for ultrasound scan and hormonal treatment.
