Brief Answer: It can be due to vitamin deficiency. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for your query. I appreciate your efforts for medical consultation in so much distress. Important aspects of your query are: • 82 year old female • Known case of chronic depression. On treatment with Wellbutrin 2-3 tablets a day • Complaints of: Short duration jerky movements on waking up. Jerky muscles can occur due to muscle twitching or seizures. In your case it appear more likely due to muscle twitching. But same time it is better to rule out seizures after consulting neurologist. Following are possible causes: -Vitamin deficiency: Specially Vitamin B1, B6, B12 and Vitamin D -Dehydration -Residual anxiety and depressive symptoms Following steps will help you: -Take constant dose of Wellbutrin: 2 tabs (300mg) per day. Higher dose above >300mg increase chances of having seizure. -Start some multivitamins -Drink adequate water. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. In case of any doubt, I will be available for follow ups. Wish you good health. Regards,
