Question: I am 55 years old diabetic and using tab Glycomet gp2, one in morning and one in night, 30 mints before food and using B-Active multi vitamin tab one in the morning after breakfast. I do brisk walking 5-6Km and exercises in the morning. The blood glucose level is under control: Fasting 110-136, Post postprandial 135-178. But past six month I am not getting erection, my doctor advised me to take tab Penegra 50mg, the issue is when I take Penegra 50mg I do get erection but my heart beat is varying and feeling very uncomfortable. Kindly resolve the issue with suitable medicine.

Brief Answer:
This is due to side effects of Penegra

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir, Hi
I can understand your concern.
After having gone through the history given in your query it appears that the side effects of the medication like varying heart beats and uncomfortable feelings are bothering you.

The most common side effects of Penegra (Sildenafil) include headache, flushing, nasal stuffiness, reversible color blindness, dizziness, a fall in BP & increased heart beats. Increased heart beats or varying heart beats (palpitations) occur due to a fall in BP caused by Penegra.

I would advise you to
1. Reduce the dose of Penegra to 25 mg one hour before the intended sexual activity ONCE DAILY only. By taking a low dose you may experience fewer side effects and still get the benefits of the treatment. Please consult your doctor for lowering the dosage.
2. Take this medication (Penegra) with food which will reduce the side effects you have been suffering from
3. Avoid alcohol (if you are consuming it.
Hope the suggestions given would benefit you.
Best regards.
