Brief Answer:
Dutasteride has major side effects

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Dutasteride is a dual 5-α reductase inhibitor that inhibits conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and is known to increase the risk of erectile dysfunction as in your case. It can also increase the risk of high-grade prostate cancer.

Androanagen contains Biotin, Taurine, Saw Palmetto, Methyl Sulfonyl Methane, Green Apple Skin Extract and Calcium Pantothenate. These are basically vitamin supplements and I would not link these to any major side effects.

Although Minoxidil increases hair production, if you stop it, it increases hairfall much more than it has actually caused to rise.

I would not use Dutasteride for long period of time; if not stop it altogether no although you can continue the other two. Discuss about it with your treating doctor.

Wishing you to be fine soon.

Dear Dr.,
thanks for answering. Of course I will stop Dutasteride immediately. I was also concerned about your remarkes on Minoxidil. If i use this spray for , say 1 year, and taper it down gradually, will the hair fall will again restart? or would you suggest I stop that also with immediate effect?

Aslo pl let me know does Androanagen aid hair growth? How long would you advise me to take it.

Brief Answer:
Taper off Dutasteride

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

Rather than stopping Dutasteride immediately, I would suggest you to taper off the dose over a week or so. That will prevent development of withdrawal reactions by allowing the body to cope up.

About Minoxidil, I would not worry. Whenever you plan to stop it, you may taper it off. There is no requirement to stop it immediately.

There is no hard proof that Androanagen helps in increasing hair growth, but it is believed that it does. There are no specifications about how long to continue it. You can continue as long as you want and as long as you wish to get the effects. But whether you would actually get any benefits remains to be assessed by you yourself.

I hope that clears your queries. Hoping for a positive review and a 5 star rating.
