What Are The Side Effects Of Combigan?
Question: I am 43 y-doctor, pediatrician, I was retinal detachment (left eye) 2 months ago. First laser, than cryo, than PPV (gas), and 3 weeks ago PPV (silicone oil, 5000). Now I have a intraocular pressure 30 mmHg (left), and 20 mmHg on the righ side. Is Combigan a right local therapy for IOP in that case, because of possible side effects? And what's your opinion about period for remove of silicone oil? What's percentage of follow eye to affect by detachment?

Doctors think that myopia (-5 dpt) is the reason of my retinal detachment.
In addition, 4 years ago I was done laser vision correction in both eyes. Does it some more information for calculate the chance that the other eye will be affected by retinal detachment. What must I do to prevent damage to the other eye? Best wishes

High myopia is the cause for retinal detachment. There is 10% risk for the other eye to get affected.
To prevent development of retinal detachment in the other eye you need to get repeated retinal examination by indirect ophthalmoscopy to find out predisposing causes like retinal thinning, retinal holes, lattice degenerayions and treatment of them by prophylactic laser treatment.
You need to avoid injuries to the eye along with the above mentioned prophylaxis.
