What Are The Effects Of Missing An Insulin Dose?

Question: My husband forgot his insulin and medication. He will be without it till tomorrow afternoon till i get there. He is at our Lake home. Will he be ok? or should i take it now it is about a 2 1/2 hr drive?

Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. I think it would be best if you too his insulin to him, or arranged for him to buy insulin at a local pharmacy in the area. No insulin means no control on sugars and the possibility of his sugars spiking to dangerously high levels. If it were me, i'd take the insulin up to him. I'm sorry for the inconvenience it would cause, but that's the realistic option in my mind.
